Rick Tedrow, Esq., District Attorney

Robert Patrick Tedrow, known as Rick Tedrow, was first elected by the citizens of San Juan County in November 2008 and re-elected in November 2012.  He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico in 1994 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico in 1999.

Rick's love of practicing law flourished as law student by interning for several offices in the Farmington area.  He first served the 11th Judicial District Attorney’s Office - Div. 1 as a student intern, a program he still encourages today. He also interned at the Law Offices of Tully & Jolley.  Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Tedrow was hired by the Law Offices of Tully & Jolley full time.  The desire to build his courtroom trial skills eventually led Rick to the 11th District Attorney’s Office - Div. 1 again, where he served as a prosecutor for almost three years.   Mr. Tedrow then partnered with the Law Firm of Fortner and Dalley where he broadened his professional knowledge practicing a wide range of legal representations.  Knowing that his heart still remained that of a prosecutor, Mr. Tedrow ran for, and was honored to become, District Attorney for San Juan County in 2008.

Rick believes in service to our local communities.  He has dedicated his career to advocate on behalf of the Citizens of San Juan County.  Rick spends much of his personal time volunteering within the community; coaching several area youth sports and advising the high school mock trial classes.   Mr. Tedrow is also an active participant in several community service organizations.

Mr. Tedrow is married with three children.  His love of faith and family is what Rick attributes his dedication to service.   Rick is proud to represent our community as our District Attorney; knowing that this is his professional calling.  He is a dynamic voice for justice, advocating on behalf of the citizens of San Juan County and New Mexico.   In determining what is justice; Rick says, “Justice is simply doing what is right”.
