Chief Deputy District Attorneys

The Chief Deputy District Attorneys are on staff to mentor and supervisor the legal staff at the Eleventh Judicial Attorney's Office, Division 1.  In addition to supervising the Legal Staff, the Chief Deputies have other administrative duties as well as carry a case load.

Brent Capshaw, Esq., Chief Deputy District Attorney

Mr. Capshaw received his Juris Doctorate from University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1991. Capshaw worked in private practice for nine years in Norman, Oklahoma, before moving to New Mexico and become a prosecutor for the State. Mr. Capshaw has been a prosecutor for sixteen years.

Dustin O’Brien, Esq., Chief Deputy District Attorney

Mr. O’Brien received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law, and was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1997.  A seasoned attorney, Mr. O’Brien banks over fifteen years’ experience as a prosecutor as well as time spent in private practice.  Mr. O’Brien proudly served six years in the Illinois Army National Guard.
